M Arch (Master of Architecture)
Master of Architecture (M Arch) is a professional postgraduate programme that involves problem-based advanced Studio-work in relation to Architecture. It is designed for students who wish to widen their knowledge in architectural design. This course allows students to develop their style and adapt to the changing market demands. Students also learn about complex and advanced methods of designing unique projects and implementing different construction methods.
The minimum duration of the M Arch program shall be three semesters. To get an M Arch degree, a student must earn a minimum of 36 credit hours. This includes three theory courses (3 credits x 3), two Design Studios (6 credits x 2) and an independent Design by Research Project (15 credit hours) within five academic years or ten semesters.

Admission Requirements
For admission to the M Arch programme, an applicant:
a) must have obtained a B Arch degree or its equivalent degree from any recognized institution.
b) must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 (out of 5.00) or a first division or equivalent in any one of S.S.C and H.S.C or in equivalent examinations and must not have a GPA less than 2.00 (out of 5.00) or a third division or equivalent in any of the aforementioned examinations.
c) must have at least 50% marks or a minimum GPA of 2.50 (out of 4.0) or its equivalent in B Arch in the relevant branch.
Application Process
A total of 30-35 students for each academic session get selected. Approximately six seats are offered in M Arch and thirty seats are offered in the MS Arch programme.
For M Arch programme, candidates must submit:
- An Application Form
- A Statement of Intent (250- 300 words)
- A Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Applicants will be called in for an interview. There will be no written exam in the selection process. During the interview, candidates must bring a Portfolio – a compilation of creative work (including thesis/ design projects, published articles and other scholarly works). Candidates shall make available their original certificates, transcripts and other records at the time of the interview.
